SERIES PREMIERE: Listen to the song Michael Dorman sings as agent John Tavner about six minutes into Patriot, this new series from Amazon. It’s about as dry, and as reservedly funny, as anything I’ve seen and heard on TV this year. And on the weird scale, it’s off the charts. Tavner is an intelligence officer whose new assignment is to help keep Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons – and that assignment places him in the midwest, at a piping firm.
