Netflix, 3:00 a.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: All 13 episodes of this first season of Julie’s Greenroom, a new children’s series starring Julie Andrews in collaboration with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, are presented today on Netflix, the producing entity for this preschool series about theater. Andrews mentors a quintet of puppet youngsters making their first foray into community theater, with guest stars such as Idina Menzel, Alec Baldwin and David Hyde Pierce dropping by to offer advice. And the musical on which they collaborate turns out to be especially relevant – it’s about support for the performing arts. MARVEL'S IRON FIST

Netflix, 3:00 a.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: This is not a recommendation. The Marvel collection of Netflix superhero series began powerfully with Jessica Jones and Daredevil, and dimmed a bit with Luke Cage – but this latest effort, the last entry in this group before the individual heroes combine for a Netflix version of The Avengers, is the first true disappointment. Its hero may pack a punch, but the show does not.

2017 NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Various Networks, 12:00 p.m. ET

The first day of this tournament delivered one exciting upset, with Middle Tennessee, ranked No. 12 in the South, beating Minnesota, ranked No. 5. Here comes day two – spread, once again, over four networks, CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV. The action begins at noon on CBS and stretches to midnight. The number one seeds playing today are Kansas (6:30 p.m. ET, TNT) and North Carolina (4 p.m., TNT, pictured).

David Bianculli has been a TV critic since 1975, including a 14-year stint at the New York Daily News, and sees no reason to stop now. Currently, he's TV critic for NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and is an occasional substitute host for that show. He's also an author and teaches TV and film history at New Jersey's Rowan University. His 2009 Dangerously Funny: The Uncensored Story of 'The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour', has been purchased for film rights. His latest, The Platinum Age of Television: From I Love Lucy to the Walking Dead, How TV Became Terrific, is an effusive guidebook that plots the path from the 1950s’ Golden Age to today’s era of quality TV.
