	BULL DURHAM Encore, 8 p.m. ET Kevin Costner got the lead in this 1988 baseball movie – but off camera, supporting actor Tim Robbins got the girl, female lead Susan Sarandon. It’s a sweet film, and Sarandon, as the focused baseball groupie who’s a very mesmerizing muse, is perfect.
	AMERICAN HISTORY X FX, 8 p.m. ET Edward Norton shows off more of his impressive range in this 1998 drama, playing a defiant neo-Nazi leader who is captured and sent to prison, and who has a major change of heart while incarcerated.
	NOVA ScienceNOW PBS, 9 p.m. ET (Check local listings) Among the reports on tonight’s installment is a segment on birdbrains – or, rather, bird brains, and how they process knowledge and learn to sing, and what those songs may mean. If you go to the PBS website, you can catch a sneak beak. Otherwise, tune in tonight.
	PROJECT RUNWAY Bravo, 9 p.m. ET Season five – the last season on Bravo, and probably the last season before the show is altered ineptly by its new network overseers – begins tonight. Making first impressions of the 16 contestants always is part of the fun on this show, and seeing how they respond to their very first, very tense challenge is part of it, too. And welcome back, Tim Gunn, the scene-stealing voice of reason, restraint, calm… and good taste.
	COSTAS NOW LIVE HBO, 9 p.m. ET The last outing of Bob Costas’ show, a live “town hall” type of setting, was so successful, and so good, HBO is trying it again – this time with a single-themed show set to explore, during this All-Star break, various issues surrounding baseball.
	THE SHINING HBO Signature, 9 p.m. ET Want to come play with us, Danny? Boy, what a creepy, unforgettable movie this 1980 Stanley Kubrick version of the Stephen King novel has turned out to be. Think of all the memorable, iconic images from this movie alone – or, to make it easier, just watch the whole movie again. Redrum! REDRUM!!!
