I’m not sure why Mondays have evolved, lately, into one of the least interesting nights of television; traditionally, it’s usually the opposite. But this season, the latest sitcom from Chuck Lorre and company, Bob Hearts Abishola, provides a nicer, warm spark. The show has deepened, and gotten warmer, just the way The Big Bang Theory did, by paying attention to its quirky supporting players, and expanding their time in the spotlight. Watch and see – and laugh.
Fox, 9:00 p.m. ET
SERIES RETURN: This Fox drama about the son of a serial killer is back for the second half of the season. The first half basically wasted some gifted talents, led by star Michael Sheen, but maybe it’ll rehabilitate itself. As with the criminal justice system, one can only hope.
