This 1936 Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers musical and dancing showcase is presented tonight as one of TCM’s “The Essentials” – and with very good reason. Great movie, wonderful music, and terrific dancing. Dancing with the Stars, eat your heart out.

This 1993 Steven Spielberg movie is a masterpiece of filmmaking – yet since it’s been 22 years since it was released, it has to be discovered and experienced anew by a new generation. This is a great place to discover it: on Showtime, where this story of a man defying Nazi rule during WWII, and helping to save Jews during the Holocaust, is both unedited and uninterrupted. Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley and Liam Neeson star.
ABC, 10:00 p.m. ET
SERIES PREMIERE: Members of Boston Emergency Services – the same group of first responders who dealt with the Boston Marathon bombing – are followed, and their actions chronicles, in this new summer nonfiction series from ABC.
NBC, 10:00 p.m. ET
Now burning out its final episodes on its new, lower-profile night, Hannibal wastes no time in passing the time. Between the events of last week’s episode and tonight’s, several years have passed, and Hannibal has been in prison – where, tonight, his expertise is sought out in dealing with a dangerous killer. Sound familiar? It should. It’s the plot presented in Red Dragon and Manhunter, the dramas set before the action in The Silence of the Lambs.
