BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Fox, 8:00 p.m. ET

Barbara (Erin Richards), who has gone from Jim Gordon’s love interest to flat-out unhinged villainess, plots to attract Jim (Ben McKenzie) to the altar – whether he likes it or not. And in this case, “till death do us part” could mean only a matter of minutes. Is it a dream wedding we’re witnessing – or a nightmare?

CBS, 8:00 p.m. ET

It’s established, thanks to last week’s episode, that the main villain in Season 1 will be played by Laura Benanti, who appeared in the premiere episode as the doomed Kryptonian mother of Melissa Benoist’s emergent Supergirl. That’s possible because Benanti is playing not only Supergirl’s late mother (and continuing to play her, in pre-recorded holograms from outer space), but the mother’s evil twin sister. How did alien auntie survive the explosion of Krypton? She was one of the villains banished to the inter-dimensional limbo of the Phantom Zone – and, like other Zone prisoners, now arrived on Earth to wreak havoc. Or, at least, to congregate while deciding how best to wreak.

CW, 8:00 p.m. ET

So far, this musical comedy series has managed to maintain both its momentum and cleverness. And tonight, Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) defends her own honor, at least in terms of trying to be interested in the problems of others.

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

FX keeps sending advance episodes of this series for preview – and I keep gobbling them up, because Fargo, this season, has become one of my very favorite shows, right up there with Better Call Saul, The Good Wife and The Walking Dead. The acting and writing are equally riveting – and only The Walking Dead rivals Fargo for flat-out intensity. And this season, Fargo may boast an even higher body count. Tonight, Ted Danson is wonderful – and he’s not the only one.

History, 9:00 p.m. ET

I haven’t seen this show – but based on similar History specials, and on logic and common sense, this episode should be called Gullible Viewers Captured. The reason to watch? It’s not to see Bigfoot, that’s for sure…

Checking out classic television recommendations and archival TV reviews is always a great way to discover hidden gems and nostalgic shows to watch. Having dedicated guides makes finding quality entertainment so much easier. While discussing classic media and online entertainment options with friends recently, someone also recommended checking out platforms like [thorfortune](https://thorfortunes.it/) for a smooth and engaging user experience. Great breakdown! Having well-written television like this makes evening downtime so much more engaging. When I'm taking a break between episodes or just relaxing after a long day of screen time, I usually unwind for a bit with a few casual rounds on [chicken road](https://chickenroad.gr.com/) before starting the next season. Really appreciate the thoughtful recommendations on this site!
