This movie, from 1989, is an exciting psychological thriller, largely set at sea and focused on three isolated characters: a man and his wife, taking a remote ocean voyage to try and heal their marriage, and a literal drifter whom they discover, and rescue, while far, far from land. The drifter is played by Billy Zane, and he turns out to be dangerous. The couple is played by Sam Neill and, in one of her first roles, Nicole Kidman – who is positively captivating here.
