BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Sundance Now, 3:00 a.m. ET

MINISERIES PREMIERE: Increasingly, more and more cable and network services are presenting streaming sister sites, which require monthly fees to watch – and as these services stack up, it takes more and more persuasion, and at least one really, really good TV show, to entice people to sample that service and add it to their viewing list (and monthly bill). In my opinion, today the Sundance Now streaming service does just that, by presenting a new four-part imported British miniseries called The Cry. It starts in Scotland and shifts to Australia, and stars Jenna Coleman – who has impressed me greatly since she played Clara on Doctor Who, and after that as the title role in Victoria. In The Cry, she plays a young mother whose husband asks her to accompany him from Scotland to Australia in hopes of negotiating the return of his teen daughter from a previous marriage. Once there, unexpected events throw them all into the media spotlight and into a police investigation – and whatever you think may happen at the start, The Cry flips it, and keeps surprising you. Coleman, Ewen Leslie as her husband, Asher Keddie as the Aussie ex-wife – they’re all amazing, and their characters, each and every one of them, unsettlingly complicated. Highly recommended. For a full review, see David Hinckley’s All Along the Watchtower

CBS, 8:00 p.m. ET

In tonight’s new episode, the gang tries to bond with Amy’s parents, played by Teller (of Penn and Teller) and Kathy Bates (currently raising hell on American Horror Story: Apocalypse). Wolowitz has a plan to win over Amy’s dad, in particular: card tricks.

NBC, 8:30 p.m. ET

Tonight’s new episode of my favorite current TV comedy is called “The Worst Possible Use of Free Will.” I recommend you watch it, but hey: it’s up to you.

CBS, 9:30 p.m. ET

In tonight’s new episode, Murphy and her gang attend an awards ceremony, which makes room for a lot of guest stars, including John Larroquette, Bette Midler, and Katie Couric.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
