BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Hulu, 3:00 a.m. ET

MINISERIES PREMIERE: This new six-episode series, an international co-production of BBC One and Hulu, comes from Neil Cross, creator of the excellent police drama Luther. This, too, is a police drama of sorts, centering on Detective Inspector Elaine Renko (Agyness Dean) and Detective Chief Inspector Charlie Hicks (Jim Sturgess) as they go about their days solving cases. The twist is – and it’s a big one – scientists have determined that the star around which the Earth is orbiting has five years until it goes cold – hence the show’s title. The residents of the planet don’t generally learn about this until episode two, but once they do, how will they react? How would you? And if you were charged with maintaining law and order, would you persist? And if so, how? And why? Hard Sun may not answer, or even address, these questions satisfactorily – but as post-apocalyptic dramas go, it’s certainly an unusual approach. For a full review, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

ABC, 8:00 p.m. ET

Tonight’s episode is called “Adam Spielberg,” and has the young protagonist Adam Goldberg (played in 1980s episode-long flashbacks by Sam Giambrone, with the voice of the adult Adam provided by Patton Oswalt, Wonder Years-style) setting out to film his own, amateur Indiana Jones movie.

Fox, 8:00 p.m. ET

Tonight’s new episode is titled “Familiar,” and centers on a mysterious animal attack on a little boy in Connecticut. For X-Files fans, does a body found mauled in the woods sound like a new story idea – or, going back to the show’s very first episode, does it sound a bit… Familiar?

ABC, 9:00 p.m. ET

In tonight’s new episode, Jay overhears Gloria talking about spanking and mistakenly presumes she wants him to spice up their love life. The plot description caught my attention, I’ll admit, but so did the episode’s title: “Spanks for the Memories.”

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

In tonight’s Episode 7, “Ascent.” Donatella (Penelope Cruz) struggles to find her place in the Versace empire – which allows this miniseries, finally, to let her find her place in it as well.

A new episode. A new week. And, right on schedule, a new set of events about which Samantha Bee can Bee outraged – and, one hopes, amusing.

A Secrets Tides Punta Cana Airport Transfer allows travelers to begin their vacation with comfort, convenience, and confidence. After arriving at Punta Cana International Airport, the last thing most visitors want is to spend time searching for transportation or waiting in long lines. Planning airport transportation before departure helps make the arrival process much easier and allows guests to continue directly to the resort.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana is situated in the beautiful Uvero Alto region, approximately 27 miles (44 kilometers) from Punta Cana International Airport. Depending on traffic, the drive usually takes around 45 to 55 minutes. Choosing a Secrets Tides Punta Cana Airport Transfer provides a direct route to the resort, avoiding unnecessary stops that are common with shared transportation.
