2019 MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

Various Networks, 3:00 p.m. ET

Three games are televised tonight, and all could be decisive in their respective series. In the National League, the Atlanta Braves, which leads the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 in its best-of-five series, also leads today’s Game 4 by a score of 4-3 as I type this in seventh inning. (It’s been a tough day; sorry for the late delivery of Bets.) That game is being played right now on TBS. At 6:30 p.m. ET, TBS shows another National League Game 4, between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals, in which the Dodgers have the 2-1 game advantage. Then, at 8:30 p.m. on FS1, it’s Game 3 of the American League series between the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins, with the Yankees winning the two previous games.

BOB (HEARTS) ABISHOLA

CBS, 8:30 p.m. ET

This sitcom has remained sweet and focused enough to warrant continued support. Chuck Lorre’s big strength as a comedy producer is his ability to let his characters breathe and evolve, and to encourage background players to step into the spotlight. All that is happening already, with members of Abishola’s outspoken family.

THE DEUCE

HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET

Last week was tough for a lot of the main characters, and fatal for one – and this week, everyone who survives is doing just that. Picking up the pieces, and trying to keep moving, and living, in (or away from) the Deuce…
