BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

AMC, 6:00 p.m. ET

AMC continues to work through its Breaking Bad sequential run, showing multiple episodes each Saturday and Sunday. Today we rejoin the action at 6 p.m. ET, at the midpoint of Season 3. Episode 7 is called “One Minute,” and features several significant decisions and confrontations – including the very violent one between Jesse (Aaron Paul), Walter White’s once and future drug-dealing partner, and Walter’s brother-in-law DEA agent, Hank (Dean Norris).

NBC, 8:00 p.m. ET

For this 75th anniversary of the Golden Globes, the host rolling out the carpet is Seth Meyers – and this year, he did that literally.

CBS All Access, 8:30 p.m. ET

MIDSEASON PREMIERE: This newest incarnation of the Star Trek franchise resumes tonight on CBS Access – the network’s subscription streaming site, and for now still the only way to see these episodes. After a lengthy hiatus, Star Trek: Discovery returns, on a weekly basis, with tonight’s new episode directed by Jonathan Frakes, one of the stars of a previous series in the TV canon, Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Syfy, 8:30 p.m. ET

Stranger Things and its Season 2 sequel, Stranger Things 2, were and are major hits on Netflix, especially with the younger generation. That’s because, in part, that younger generation grew up entertained by 1985’s The Goonies, a movie that served as an obvious inspiration for the misfit Stranger Things kids and their adventures. To compare and contrast, watch Syfy’s showing tonight, and check out young Sean Astin, James Brolin, Corey Feldman and buddies as they search for, really, buried treasure.

Showtime, 10:00 p.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: Lena Waithe, who co-wrote the Emmy-winning “Thanksgiving” episode of Master of None with Aziz Ansari, created this new Showtime series, which looks at modern-day South Side Chicago through the eyes of a handful of its everyday citizens – children, teens and adults. The opening hour starts with a bike ride through the neighborhood, and by the end of the hour, you’ll have a hard time forgetting the biker. And other characters make their marks, too, just striving to get by, and advance – and connect. For full reviews, see Ed Bark’s Uncle Barky’s Bytes and David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

Checking out classic television recommendations and archival TV reviews is always a great way to discover hidden gems and nostalgic shows to watch. Having dedicated guides makes finding quality entertainment so much easier. While discussing classic media and online entertainment options with friends recently, someone also recommended checking out platforms like [thorfortune](https://thorfortunes.it/) for a smooth and engaging user experience. Thanks for sharing this helpful update!

Great breakdown! Having well-written television like this makes evening downtime so much more engaging. When I'm taking a break between episodes or just relaxing after a long day of screen time, I usually unwind for a bit with a few casual rounds on [chicken road](https://chickenroad.gr.com/) before starting the next season. Really appreciate the thoughtful recommendations on this site!
