BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

TVWW readers: We can write that David is still riffing from Monty Python’s Spamalot, saying he’s incapacitated but "not dead yet!" We’re hopeful that the Best Bets switch should be back on perhaps in a matter of weeks, more or less. (And after 35 years of “Bets,” it's maybe more of a surprise that it hasn’t been offline once in awhile…)

Meanwhile, TVWW is now a fan of yours as you continue to pinch-hit and share your favorite shows and nightly picks (at Best Bets Talk Back).  You’ll also find we are posting some of your selections on our homepage in the “TV We’re Watching” block. We’re listing Casual, Ripper Street and The Great British Baking Show alongside our annual fave Ray Donovan and our new obsession, Mr. Robot. And won't everyone be watching the Summer Olympics beginning Aug. 5? At least we can take a break from the presidential campaigns…

Also, you might have noticed that the biannual Television Critics Association “press tour” in Beverly Hills is back on for the next couple of weeks. Our own David Hinckley will be sending in daily updates on what the broadcast and cable networks, cable channels, and streaming sites will have in store for the fall and 2017. It will be a busy few weeks of TV news and opinion.

We so appreciate your enthusiasm and love for TVWW, and we know David does, too. Please continue to hang in and stay tuned.  — TVWW
