I watched last week’s premiere, not knowing what to think about this wholesale revision of its longstanding gearhead series – but I have to admit, new host Matt LeBlanc fits right in, and is very funny here. And a very good driver, too, which matters a lot. On this series, anyway.

SERIES PREMIERE: Last season, when this Rashida Jones comedy series was unveiled, TBS kicked it off with a marathon viewing of all its first-year episode. Tonight, to start Season 2, it’s being a lot less generous, which probably is a smart move, programming-wise. Two new episodes are shown beginning at 9 ET, and that's it for now.

UNREAL

Lifetime, 10:00 p.m. ET

This is one of those series where a lot of other critics and viewers are a lot more impressed than I by the art and intent behind this spoof of reality dating shows. And that includes the Peabody voters, so maybe I’m just not getting this one. But here it is, back for a new season, with Rachel promoted to producer, and very quickly shaking up the casting session of the new dating cycle by playing the race card. Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer star.
