BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Netflix, 3:00 a.m. ET

SEASON PREMIERE: Season 2 of this Australian series arrives just after its premiere last month Down Under. Once again, it’s a sort of intense, Aussie-accented House of Cards, but with a different political scandal. As with Season 1, stars include the dynamic (and, to American viewers, quite familiar) Anna Torv and Jacki Weaver.

WHISKEY CAVALIER

ABC, 10:00 p.m. ET

In this second episode of ABC’s new spy series, Will (Dylan Walsh) is assigned to seduce the widow of a notorious shipping tycoon in order to uncover some of his secrets – but Frankie (Lauren Cohan) isn’t sure he’s up to the task.

DOCUMENTARY NOW!: "WAITING FOR THE ARTIST"

IFC, 11:00 p.m. ET

Last week, Documentary Now! Presented what may be my absolute favorite of its documentary intricate spoof: Co-Op, a letter-perfect, and note-perfect, lampoon of the documentary about the recording of the original Broadway cast soundtrack of Stephen Sondheim’s Company. Tonight, the documentary being satirized is Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present, about the life and art of a particularly and peculiarly devoted performance artist. In Waiting for the Artist, Cate Blanchett portrays performance artist Izabella Barta, some of whose artistic installations can best be described as… commodious.
