BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Public Television, Check local listings

These new editions of Bill Moyers' latest foray into thoughtful television are like an antidote to all the babble spewing forth from so many TV talk shows during the week. Tonight, topics include immigration reform and the border patrols between the U.S. and Mexico - and the guest, rather than one of the usual representatives from inside the Beltway, is the author of The Devil's Highway, Luis Alberto Urrea. Presented Friday through Sunday on public television. To find when and where this series is televised in your local TV market, click HERE.

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

Fox, 9:00 p.m. ET

Not when the existence of the world, and the worlds, and this show are all under threat. (The show has since been renewed – but still…)

HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET

Among the true tales Karl Pilkington recounts this week to mates Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant is a recent outing to buy a pie at a bakery. Upon leaving the shop and heading to his car, he stumbled straight into a robbery in progress at the post office across the street. And instantly, he was afraid – that the man with the gun might want to steal Karl’s pie as well.

USA, 10:00 p.m. ET

SERIES FINALE: After tonight, this USA series goes into hiding in a big way, because you’ll never see it again, except in reruns. Mary McCormack’s show, about a woman who shepherds people into the federal witness protection program, comes to an end tonight, with an episode titled, “All’s Well That Ends.” Well…
