Blacklist double feature – the second part being tonight’s new episode, the second of the new season, and the new year. The cliffhanger from last year established that Red (James Spader) was not, after all this time and all his stories, the father of FBI agent Liz (Megan Boone). She’s now more determined than ever to find out his true identity, his closeness to a plastic surgeon, and the roots of his emotional connection to her. I have a very, very out-of-the-box theory about all this, by the way: Red had extensive plastic surgery, and other surgeries, to adopt his new identity. Before that, he used to be Liz’s… mother.
