The title, you know. The current version, with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, you’ll be hearing about, or at least hearing the music from, at this year’s Oscars. The version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, sure, you know that, too. And it’s a good bet you’re familiar with the most famous version of this fame-is-fickle fable, starring Judy Garland and James Mason. But tonight, TCM serves up the rarely televised 1937 original A Star Is Born film, which predated all those others.
