Last week’s series premiere set up Chuck Lorre’s newest sitcom as a sweet enough premise: heart patient Bob (Billy Gardell) takes a serious liking to one of his medical caregivers, Nigerian nurse Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku). Tonight, their relationship deepens – or, actually, it shallows, because if their courtship moves too quickly, this show loses much of its initial comedy and drama.

In week two, the blind auditions continue. Presumably, so does the scene-stealing, Blake-blocking behavior of returning judge Gwen Stefani.

Last week, Candy’s wealthy new boyfriend offered her all the money she needed to make her next porn film – but she turned him down, preferring to raise the funds herself and keep their relationship on a personal level. Tonight, she seeks out new sources for money, and also looks for some stars for her upcoming movie. One place she might look: to her former star Lori (Emily Meade), who’s now trying to shift to performing as background talent in mid-Eighties music videos for the new media sensation MTV…
