This very weird, dry vampire comedy series, based on the 2014 movie, gets its humor in some very unexpected places. Sure, there are the overall arching comedy bits about vampires vs. werewolves, and human vampire groupies seeking immortality – but who would have expected that this particular vampire clan, prodded by its visiting vampire leader from abroad to accelerate their domination of the new world, would embark upon that quest by infiltrating… local Staten Island politics?

SEASON PREMIERE: Jim Brockmire (Hank Azaria) is back from rehab to start Season 3, and he’s taking this latest second chance seriously. This leads to some new co-stars, a new baseball team for which to provide his very colorful commentary – and, as the season progresses, a surprisingly poignant relationship with a ball player played by recurring guest star J.K. David Bianculli has been a TV critic since 1975, including a 14-year stint at the New York Daily News, and sees no reason to stop now.
