SERIES RETURN: This game show, hosted by Howie Mandel, was a hit on NBC from 2006 to 2009, and operated as a sort of anti-quiz show. You didn’t need to know anything at all to play this game, just choose a series of numbered suitcases and hope for the best, with the most advantageous amounts hidden inside. Any number of evolved mammals could have played this game just as adeptly – and it didn’t take much skill to be one of the “briefcase models,” either, though that occupation proved to be a stepping-stone for at least one. During the first season of Deal or No Deal, Briefcase Model #24 was Meghan Markle (pictured) – now the Duchess of Sussex. Don’t expect her to appear in this remake – the commute is too arduous. And beginning Wednesday night, after this NBC sneak preview, Deal or No Deal migrates anyway, to CNBC.
