One of the favorite animated Disney heroines of the modern era makes her first 3-D appearance in tonight’s new episode. It’s Ariel, the scaly star of A Little Mermaid, as embodied by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who once played Cheyenne on Reba McEntire’s sitcom Reba. And who plays evil Ursula? Let’s put it this way. The tentacles may be new, but the face is familiar…

THE WALKING DEAD

AMC, 9:00 p.m. ET

Last week’s episode concluded with a creepy wide shot, as Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his ad hoc hunting party came up against more walkers than expected. Many, many, many, many more – an image that was even scarier than the unknown but deadly infection sweeping through the ranks of the already put-upon survivors.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE

HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET

Last week, Chalky (Michael K. Williams) almost died at the hands of his right-hand man, and those hands were closing around Chalky’s throat. But he survived to fight another day – as has former federal agent Nelson Van Alden, who may have to stand up against a tough adversary also: Al Capone.

HOMELAND

Showtime, 9:00 p.m. ET

The betrayal of Carrie (Claire Danes) by Saul and everyone else at the CIA seems a little less cruel, now that we know the true extent, and intent, of their plans – but that doesn’t mean Carrie is in any less danger, or any less of a rough spot, than before. In fact, quite the contrary.

THE GOOD WIFE

CBS, 9:30 p.m. ET

Last week’s episode was a great piece of television, allowing all of the show’s well-drawn characters to be true to themselves while reacting to circumstances that had them being untrue to one another. Tonight’s installment is called “The Day After” – and pits the former partners and associates against one another, in very close quarters, in an episode that, quite clearly, is not to be missed.
