In 2012, Judd Apatow wrote and directed his most personal movie yet – a semi-sequel to Knocked Up, starring Paul Rudd and Apatow’s real-life wife, Leslie Mann, as a couple with kids, and getting older and more responsible despite their hopes to do otherwise. The Apatow-Mann couple’s daughters, Maude and Iris, are in the movie, too, playing young Sadie and Charlotte, respectively.

 
  
 
 
GUN CRAZY

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

This 1950 film noir classic stars Peggy Cummins as Annie Starr, a disturbingly modern dame, or moll: a woman who likes not only guns – something she shares with John Dall’s character of Barton – but the violence and danger that ofteb comes with them. There’s some daring photography in here, too.

 
  
 
 
THE BLACKLIST

NBC, 9:00 p.m. ET

In case you missed it earlier this week: Here’s a repeat of one of this season’s few new dramas worth sampling. James Spader plays Red, an FBI Most Wanted criminal who turns himself in with the stipulation that he gets to work with a raw recruit (played by Megan Boone) on other cases the government wants solved. THE WHITE QUEEN

Starz!, 9:00 p.m. ET

Included in tonight’s new episode: a masquerade ball in which one of the regal ladies comes with an escort who’s her mane man. He’s wearing the mask of a jungle cat – and I ain’t lion. And she’s wearing what may be the mask of a unicorn, though I barely see the point.

 
  
 
 
SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

NBC, 11:29 p.m. ET

SEASON PREMIERE: I always get a little wistful when the season premiere of SNL approaches. Not because I’m all choked up at a show that’s now starting Season 39 – but because the original premiere of Saturday Night Live, way back in 1975, marked my first published newspaper column as a professional TV critic. So if SNL has been plugging along for nearly 40 years, welll, so have I. And for this year’s show, which has lots of cast changes afoot, the guest host is the program’s former head writer and star, Tina Fey. Musical guest: Arcade Fire.
