TCM’s month of movie musicals, shown every Tuesday and Thursday in June, is at an end, but what a way to go out: The action begins at 8 a.m. ET with 1971’s The Boy Friend (where waifish supermodel Twiggy played a flapper), and, over the course of the day and night, includes everything from 1973’s Godspell (3 p.m. ET) and 1972’s 1776 (5 p.m. ET) to 1968’s Funny Girl (8 p.m. ET) and 1971’s Fiddler on the Roof (10:45 p.m. ET). And the evening, and the month-long salute to movie musicals, ends with two audaciously directed films: 1972’s Cabaret (at 2 a.m. ET) and 1975’s Tommy (at 4:15 a.m. ET). Among the many, many things to look for: the climax of Godspell (pictured), filmed atop one of the towers of the World Trade Center, which at the time was still under construction.

The final slots in the Round of 16 are filling up fast, and today’s action features four more games – played two at a time, with Fox televising one of them, and Fox Sports 1 televising the other. Tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET, Fox presents Senegal vs. Columbia, while Fox Sports presents Japan vs. Poland. They’ll all in Group H, and except for Poland, all still have a chance to advance. Then at 2 p.m. ET, from Group G, Fox presents England vs. Belgium (pictured), both of whom will advance to the next stage. At the same time, Fox Sports 1 presents Panama vs. Tunisia, two winless teams.
