TVWW Update: David continues to be on the upswing — and, hey, watching a heck of a lot of TV. He’s just not writing about it quite yet. While they are still on hold at the moment, "Best Bets" may be returning in a matter of weeks, more or less.
We’re still looking at this as a deserved, unsurprising break from writing "Bets" daily for 35 years. Meanwhile, you’ll see we continue posting some of your selections down below in the "TV We’re Watching" block. (Please keep pinch-hitting and sharing your favorite shows and nightly picks at Best Bets Talk Back). Pickings are annually slim for August TV viewing, but we’re listing ABC’s Boston EMS and the new Netflix series The Get Down, which gets enthusiastic reviews from TVWW’s Ed Bark and David Hinckley.
