Plenty of movies about WWII focused on a pivotal, successful mission. This 1977 film, based on the Cornelius Ryan bestseller, is about a military operation that went less smoothly. But it’s given the same epic treatment, with a cast to match. Stars include Sean Connery (pictured), Michael Caine, James Caan, Dirk Bogarde, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, and Gene Hackman.

The final season of Burn Notice already is heating up – at least in finally getting the gang back together to work on a mission. It involves teamwork and trust, so things might get tricky considering recent events. But when the plan targets a Russian bureaucrat, and calls for Fiona to blackmail him, there’s no reason not to watch. And to expect positive results.

Tonight’s show truly is an all-star edition. It features Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Chris O’Dowd from HBO’s Family Tree, and singer Josh Groban. Carell, Wiig and O’Dowd, all trading banter with the quick-witted, freewheeling Norton? Should be a riot.

Among the vignettes in tonight’s Wilfred is a sequence in which Wilfred is taken to a dog obedience school – where the lady in charge is played by Gina Gershon. And Wilfred, instead of seeing this as a punishment, sees only opportunity.

This 2004 movie by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone is, without doubt, the best marionette movie musical ever made. It’s truly hilarious, and audacious – and, in both respects, hints at the elements the pair would bring when collaborating with Robert Lopez on Broadway’s brilliant The Book of Mormon.
