ABC, 8:00 p.m. ET

SEASON PREMIERE: Prime-time game shows continue to attempt a comeback this summer – and here comes the return of an ABC experiment, tried last year, in which contestants have to answer a marathon of questions without missing three in a row. It’s okay, as quiz shows go – but even with the presence tonight of Ken Jennings, it’s no Jeopardy!

RED NOSE DAY

NBC, 9:00 p.m. ET

This long-running British fundraising event finally came to the U.S. last year. The second annual telecast arrives this year with a naturalized American citizen, formerly from Scotland, as host: Craig Ferguson, shifting from his former CBS home to NBC for the occasion.

ORPHAN BLACK

BBC America, 10:00 p.m. ET

Last week’s episode ended with the death of an original – the original – and that’s a death that ought to resonate deeply throughout the clone community.

INSIDE AMY SCHUMER

Comedy Central, 10:00 p.m. ET

In tonight’s new episode, Amy becomes obsessed with a chef, and has her leg eaten off. Let’s hope those are the subjects of two completely unrelated comedy sketches.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW

BBC America, 11:30 p.m. ET

Tonight’s scheduled guests: Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, Jodie Foster, and, as the musical guest, Sir Elton John. Just another “average” week for The Graham Norton Show.
