With Ted 2 hitting theaters, maybe no one needs a reminder of just how funny 2012’s original Ted, starring Mark Wahlberg and written and directed by Seth MacFarlane (who also voices the teddy bear Ted), was. It’s got some laugh-out-loud moments, some that go by so quickly you almost require a second viewing to enjoy it all. So whether or not you’ve seen Ted before, enjoy it now… if only for the stripper names.

UNDER THE DOME

CBS, 9:00 p.m. ET

SEASON PREMIERE: Season 3 of Under the Dome begins with our heroes, and villains, still… under the dome. But not all of them. Some have escaped to the outside, and some outside agitators have found a way in – thanks to those mysterious underground tunnels. As opposed, I guess, to overground tunnels… but I digress.

WAYWARD PINES

Fox, 9:00 p.m. ET

The big shocker about Wayward Pines was revealed to Ethan recently – but the shocker, to me, is that Fox hasn’t canceled this series in midstream. Yet that’s only one opinion. For another, see Alex Strachan’s TV That Matters.

THE SEVENTIES

CNN, 9:00 p.m. ET

Part 3. Tonight’s installment, Peace with Honor, is all about Vietnam, and how the U.S. finally extricated itself from a war it could not, or at least did not, win.

THE COMEDIANS

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

SEASON FINALE: The final two episodes of Season 1 of The Comedians are presented tonight as a doubleheader – with the second episode detailing what purports to be the last day of the TV show within a show for Josh Gad and Bill Crystal… but if it is, there’s no show without the show.
