SERIES PREMIERE: Joss Whedon returns to TV with his newest drama series, a spinoff of The Avengers movie series. It stars Clark Gregg, whose character of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson is revived from Whedon’s Avengers film – just as the character himself is revived, somehow, from the dead. This set-up episode may be heavy with premise and introduction, but Whedon has earned our trust, and the cast, including the always sparkling Gregg, should be fun to spend time with, as they chase bad guys without, for the most part, the benefit of superpowers.
