Among James Corden’s sing-along passengers this year: Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez. Millions more people watched last year’s Carpool Karaoke special than watch Corden in his regular late-night CBS slot – but then again, tens of millions more people watch him, and Carpool Karaoke, on YouTube than in either the late-night or prime-time slots on CBS. But wherever you see them, they are a blast.

Jimmy celebrated his courtroom victory over his brother last week, and saved some of the expenses of his law practice’s advertising budget by pitching his remaining TV ad space – as “Saul Goodman.” So it’s started – but the evolution of Saul, like this series, is far from over. Thank goodness, because I love this series.

TBS, 10:30 p.m. ET

Tonight’s episode is called “License to Drill,” and introduces a femme fatale into the mix. It also introduces what looks like a chain-mail suit of armor, based on publicity photographs, for reasons TBS didn’t even bother to begin to make clear. But with Angie Tribeca, anything goes, truly.
