ABC, 9:00 p.m. ET

Tonight is Game 5, with the Miami Heat holding a 3-1 edge over the Oklahoma City Thunder. That’s significant, historically, because no team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit to win in the NBA Finals. There’s always a first time, but the odds are much greater that LeBron James, who was sidelined briefly at the end of Game 4 but played despite the pain, will get the championship he’s wanted for so long. If not tonight, then soon enough…

USA, 9:00 p.m. ET

Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) remains in prison, and in an orange jump suit, as Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) works to spring her – or, at least, see her, which proves tricky enough. But with help from a former mentor, played by guest star John C. McGinley from Scrubs, he’s got a fighting chance.

COMEDY CENTRAL ROAST OF PAMELA ANDERSON

Comedy Central, 9:27 p.m. ET

This summer roast rerun hails from 2005, and features Jimmy Kimmel as roastmaster. Among the members of the dais taking aim at Anderson , and each other, include Courtney Love, Tommy Lee, Sarah Silverman, Andy Dick, Greg Giraldo, Lisa Lampanelli and, perhaps most improbably of all, Bea Arthur. There are all other celebrities… and then there’s Maude.

ROCK CENTER WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS

NBC, 10:00 p.m. ET

Tonight’s program includes a profile of Aaron Sorkin, the talented, prolific movie and TV writer whose latest project is The Newsroom, which premieres Sunday on HBO. And part of the interview is conducted in Sorkin’s patented “walk-and-talk” style, with poor Savannah Guthrie left behind in the proverbial dust.

WILFRED

FX, 10:30 p.m. ET

SNEAK PREVIEW: An advance peek at the new season is presented tonight on FX, and it doesn’t take more than a few seconds to see that Wilfred has upped the ante on guest-star appearances this year. In the opening scenes, you’ll see several familiar faces – and then, right after that, you’ll see another one. Specifically: guest star Robin Williams.
