THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY: DISNEYLAND AT 60

ABC, 8:00 p.m. ET

The milestone in the title actually was reached last year, but other than a few cranky TV critics, who’s counting? The original Disneyland series on ABC started in 1955, even before the theme park bearing its name was opened to the public – and has given us many iterations of Disney anthology series and children’s shows over the past six decades. And this two-hour special embraces the movies, too. Enjoy? Absolutely. Among the guests: The Lion King composer Elton John.

THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH

After what happened this weekend in South Carolina, on both sides of the aisle, how can you not check in to see how this program recounts the week?

THE GOOD WIFE

CBS, 9:00 p.m. ET

The last episodes of any quality TV show are well worth watching, because the writers and producers are free to work with abandon, concerned primarily with servicing only the overall story and a satisfying conclusion. With The Good Wife, that includes the big question of how do you want Alicia’s relationship with Peter (Chris Noth) to conclude? Julianna Margulies stars.

MUST SEE TV: AN ALL-STAR TRIBUTE TO JAMES BURROWS

NBC, 9:00 p.m. ET

The best TV sitcom director of all time, James Burrows, is saluted in this two-hour special, which honors the prolific director of Cheers, Frasier, Taxi, Will & Grace, Friends and so many, many classic sitcoms – whose casts reunite (most of them, anyway, as with Taxi alumni, pictured with Burrows) for the occasion.

MASTERPIECE: "DOWNTON ABBEY"

PBS, 9:00 p.m. ET

Without spoiling anything, let me just say there’s a scene in tonight’s show, involving a classroom, that makes me cringe – and another that makes me warm all over. Maybe it’s because I’m a teacher now, but I don’t think so. Check local listings.

THE WALKING DEAD

AMC, 9:00 p.m. ET

Wow. Last week’s midseason return was a zombie-filled stunner of an episode, and not just because of its particular eye-for-an-eye vengeance showdowns. I expected the episode to launch our band of weary heroes on yet another nomadic search for safe shelter – but instead, they made an Alamo-type last stand, which appeared to end better than the Alamo did. What now? Who knows?

LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER

HBO, 11:00 p.m. ET

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: After what happened this weekend in South Carolina, on both sides of the aisle, how can you not check in to see how this program recounts the week?
