BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Hulu, 3:00 a.m. ET

DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: This is a documentary about a TV sketch comedy series that came and went quickly 21 years ago, and is most remembered today for an infamous opening sketch so polarizing, literally millions of viewers changed channels before it was over. The program was ABC’s The Dana Carvey Show, and it’s worth remembering, in this very funny documentary, because of its all-star lineup of writers and performers. Saturday Night Live and Wayne’s World star Carvey had such then-unknown on-camera help as Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert, and the writers’ room included Louis C.K., Robert Smigel, and Charlie Kaufman. Watch, in particular, for one particularly Pythonesque sketch: “Waiters Who are Nauseated by Food” (pictured, with Colbert and Carell). For my full review on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, visit the Fresh Air website.

Fox Sports 1, 8:00 p.m. ET

The Houston Astros fought back in last night’s Game 6 in the American League Championship Series, tying the AL pennant series at 3-3 and forcing tonight’s do-or-die Game 7, for both the Astros and the improbably resilient New York Yankees.

BBC America, 9:00 p.m. ET

Last week, Dirk Gently began its second season. What happened? It’s still way too early to tell, because that’s the kind of series this is. Tonight there’s a discovery of a body – or, at least, a connection between the body and another of Dirk’s cases. Maybe.

Showtime, 9:00 p.m. ET

DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: This new documentary explores the life, music and messages of George Michael, one of the power players in the glory Eighties days of MTV.

BBC America, 10:00 p.m. ET

Graham Norton rarely makes room for politicians on his guest couch, but tonight’s show is a high-profile exception. One of his guests tonight is Hillary Clinton –and while she’s no stranger to late-night talk show appearances, The Graham Norton Show is a very different kind of animal – freewheeling, uninhibited, and usually requiring lengthy interaction with the week’s other guests, who, in this case, include actor Jeff Goldblum. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the former presidential candidate gets preferential solo treatment, and gets to talk to Norton alone. Power, even when not fully realized in the electoral college, has its privileges.

Pelayanan paling anjing yang pernah kami alami. Setelah uang masuk, sikap berubah total.

Hormat saya,

Dave
