Whatever had happened the first five days of this past week – and a lot had happened – it all was dwarfed by the sudden announcement Friday night that Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died. In an instant, the 2020 political campaign, and landscape, was forever altered. How did the correspondents for The Circus hear the news, and react to it? And whose opinions did they get to first? Witness the first rough draft of history, as it happens.
ABC, 8:00 p.m. ET
Because of the pandemic, this year’s Emmy Awards will be unlike any other. And it ought to be quite subdued: To pat yourself on the back too loudly when 200,000 Americans have died of COVID-19, and only days after Ruth Bader Ginsberg also died, just doesn’t seem proper. HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET
This is Episode 6 of Lovecraft Country, and HBO only provided the first five episodes for preview. So you know what happens in tonight’s installment? Neither do I. But I promise, I’ll be watching. I like this series so much, I’ll probably be watching this “live,” and recording the Emmys for later. What I do know about this episode of Lovecraft Country, based on the promos, is that it flashes back to Korea.
