BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

NBC, 5:00 p.m. ET

Almost Dreaming, winner of the Kentucky Derby, is the horse to watch in this year’s Preakness. This race is the second leg of the Triple Crown, and Almost Dreaming therefore is the only competitor who can hope for a Triple Crown win this year. But that’s before this race is run – and the other horses and jockeys in the race have ideas, and almost dreams, of their own.

HBO, 8:00 p.m. ET

The best scene in The Wizard of Lies, Barry Levinson’s restrained character study of Bernie Madoff and family, is when Michelle Pfeiffer, playing Ruth Madoff, the wife of Robert De Niro’s almost mythologically dishonest financier, rides the elevator down from her penthouse apartment to the building lobby. This is after Madoff’s elaborate Ponzi scheme, defrauding friends, clients and even family of billions of fraudulently “invested” dollars, was revealed in the press – and every time the elevator bell rings and the elevator stops to let in another passenger during the descent, Ruth’s face betrays another silent pang of agony. There’s no escape from her husband’s shame, or his victims and haters, or even any way to persuade people that she wasn’t in on her husband’s scheme. It’s all there in that elevator. And while Pfeiffer and De Niro are palpably credible as the wealthy, inscrutable couple, the depiction of Madoff’s wife and two sons as innocent and non-complicit is less than entirely convincing – at least as presented here, in a screenplay based on the book by Diana B. Henriques, who portrays herself, interviewing De Niro’s Madoff in prison-visit scenes that frame the story. Hank Azaria is a breakout supporting star as Madoff’s knowing (and sleazy) co-conspirator, but this drama, like the real-life accounts of this financial story, leaves more questions unanswered than explained. Watch for the performances – not the insight. For a full review, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

Syfy, 8:00 p.m. ET

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, Syfy serves up the entire concluding Season 3 of this 12 Monkeys TV spinoff – all 10 episodes – in a three-night prime-time mini-marathon. The marathon began Friday, continues tonight at 8 p.m. ET, and concludes Sunday, opposite the return of Showtime’s Twin Peaks. Good luck with that. And if you missed yesterday’s initial Season 3 episodes of this relentlessly mobile time-travel sci-fi spinoff, there are two ways to catch up. Watch Syfy On Demand – or build a time machine and go back a day.

BBC America, 9:00 p.m. ET

Michelle Gomez guest stars in tonight’s new episode, reprising her increasingly important and imposing villainess role as Missy. It’s an episode written by current Doctor Who show runner Steven Moffatt, and is set in the Vatican. So in the same week President Trump visits Vatican City, so does the Doctor…

NBC, 11:29 p.m. ET

SEASON FINALE: It’s the last first-run Saturday Night Live installment of the season, a time when the show’s writers and performers simultaneously are wheezing their way to the finish line and marshaling energies for one last great push of inspiration. The week in politics has given no end of inspiration – and with tonight’s show being the last time to play until fall, even pop-in players like Alec Baldwin and Melissa McCarthy are good bets to show up. The guest host is Dwayne Johnson, shown here in a new promo, and the musical guest is Katy Perry, who may even take part in a sketch or two herself.

Marine lubricants are specialized oils and greases formulated to meet the demanding requirements of marine engines and equipment operating in harsh oceanic environments. These lubricants are essential for reducing friction and wear in ship engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring efficient performance and prolonged machinery life. They come in various types, including trunk piston engine oils (TPEO) for medium-speed engines and system oils for crosshead engines. Marine lubricants must possess excellent thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and detergency to withstand extreme pressures, high temperatures, and exposure to saltwater.
