BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Oxygen, 8:00 p.m. ET

This is a new telemovie made from a premise that also was seen in one of last season’s episodes of Castle: a person suddenly is transported from the real world into the exaggerated universe of the telenovela. In this case, it’s a meek fan of the TV show Passion without Limits (played by Edy Ganem) who suddenly finds herself in the shoes, or at least the bed, of that program’s heroine – and vice versa.

Pay-Per-View, 9:00 p.m. ET

It’s been called “the biggest fight in boxing history” – but that was by Floyd Mayweather himself, speaking Wednesday at the weigh-in where he and Manny Pacquiao made their final joint appearance before stepping into the ring tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Showtime and HBO, working together on coverage of a boxing match for the first time in 13 years (since Mike Tyson vs. Lennox Lewis in 2002), will provide live TV coverage, but only via Pay-Per-View, via your cable or satellite system. As appetizers for their regular subscribers, HBO presents a one-hour Red Carpet Show Live special at 8 ET, while Showtime simultaneously presents its own one-hour special, Countdown to Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. But at 9 p.m. ET, to see the match itself (and its scene-setting undercards), you have to pay for the PPV feed, and it’ll cost you – more than any other televised boxing match in history. Whether you climb into the TV ring via Showtime or HBO, the price tag for the live TV coverage is $90 – and that’s for standard definition. For high definition, the cost is an even $100. If there’s a first-round knockout, the loser won’t be the only one feeling the pain.

BBC America, 9:00 p.m. ET

The male clones, up to now, have done their share of killing – but tonight, we also see their tender side. Or, at least, a side where they’re just cloning around.

BBC America, 10:00 p.m. ET

It’s not necessarily the alpha members of The Avengers who booked the overseas promotional tour – but on tonight’s new episode of The Graham Norton Show, the guests promoting the new Avengers: Age of Ultron film are Mark Ruffalo (a.k.a. The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (a.k.a. Hawkeye), and new player Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch). But in Norton’s hands, even if it’s a “B” team, he’ll end up with lots of “A” material.

NBC, 11:29 p.m. ET

Speaking of Avengers: Age of Ultron, tonight’s guest host is another of those very Avengers: Scarlett Johannson, who plays Black Widow.
