SEASON FINALE: Just in case you missed it last Sunday, here’s a repeat of the episode that ends Season 4, and does so by upping its quota of imported American actors. Shirley MacLaine returns, and Paul Giamatti makes his first appearance – a shrewd one – playing another visiting American relative. Check local listings.

THE 86TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS

ABC, 8:30 p.m. ET

Ellen DeGeneres is the host this year, and the front-running films include Gravity and 12 Years a Slave. It ought to be good Oscar telecast to watch – if, that is, the latest winter storm hitting the Northeast doesn’t knock the signal off my satellite.

THE WALKING DEAD

AMC, 9:00 p.m. ET

Most shows are offering up repeats against the Oscars, but not The Walking Dead. It’s continuing the story – which, last week, featured more reunions, more surprises, and introduced even more characters.

TRUE DETECTIVE

HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET

Last week’s episode ended with Martin and Rust (Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey) finally sharing screen time, for the first time, in the “modern” timeline. We also know, thanks to last week’s flashback, what finally drove the two to blows. So what happens now? On this show, it’s wonderfully difficult to predict.

JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE AFTER THE OSCARS

ABC, 11:30 p.m. ET

Whenever the Academy Awards finally end and give way to the local news, wait 30 minutes, then tune in for this live, post-Oscars Jimmy Kimmel special, which traditionally has taken advantage of the proximity of so many Hollywood stars to do pre-taped bits featuring lots of them, as well as grabbing a few for post-Oscar visits. Among the headliners scheduled to show up tonight: Kevin Spacey. And it wouldn’t be a Jimmy Kimmel star-studded show without an appearance somehow, however briefly, by Matt Damon.
