Yesterday, when I recorded and distributed the Best TV Tomorrow video for Saturday (now today: how time flies), and said there basically was nothing so compelling on TV that it qualified as “best,” I encouraged you to turn off the TV and go live your lives. (See my non-recommendation here.) But that was before the New York Yankees beat the Houston Astros 4-1 in last night’s Game 5. That means, instead of the Astros claiming the American League pennant and its spot in this year’s World Series, the team returns to Houston to face the Yankees in a Game 6. David Bianculli has been a TV critic since 1975, including a 14-year stint at the New York Daily News, and sees no reason to stop now. Currently, he's TV critic for NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and is an occasional substitute host for that show.
