March Madness begins today, with the first two of four last-second qualifying games prior to the beginning of Thursday’s bracketed tournament of 64 college teams – teams with very long odds and, traditionally, very strange team names. In the first game, the Albany Great Danes play the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers for the right to make one of the last bracket spots. In the second game, which begins at 9:10 p.m. ET, it’s North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. the Xavier Musketeers. Both games are televised live by TruTV, as will tomorrow’s group of “first four” games as well.
