DOCUMENTARY SERIES PREMIERE: This four-part nonfiction series slips into the Sunday night Showtime slot established by The Circus – a great place to watch a weekly take on political maneuvering. This new effort is from director Alex Gibney, and is based on Tim Weiner’s book Enemies: A History of the FBI. It examines the complex ways, over the years, in which the White House, the courts and the FBI have functioned. And, often, dysfunctioned.

THE CLINTON AFFAIR

A&E, 9:00 p.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: Watch this only if you’re interested – but I’m guessing many people will be. It’s a new nonfiction series examining the scandalous relationship between President Bill Clinton and one of his White House interns, Monica Lewinsky. But this time, Lewinsky herself provides her side of the story, her memories – and her assessment of how that affair changed her life.

Mickey Donovan (Jon Voight) is so furious at what w a movie production company has done to his screenplay, he’s stormed the New York location set and kidnapped the leading man. And in the process, Voight gets to stroll the streets of New York again, many, many years after Midnight Cowboy.

ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA

Showtime, 10:00 p.m. ET

MINISERIES PREMIERE: Paul Dano and Benicio Del Toro star in this seven-hour miniseries, playing real-life convicts Richard Matt and David Sweat, who escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in 2015.
