BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Showtime, 8:00 p.m. ET

SEASON FINALE: It’s not unusual for series to end their seasons with cliffhangers, but even The Circus, which ends its fourth season tonight, is doing it – big-time. Donald Trump is poised to enact his first presidential veto, in response to Congress’ rebuke of his declaration of an emergency to divert funding for the border wall.  The Mueller report may be delivered soon (a familiar teasing refrain, but this time it may be more accurate). And more presidential candidate hopefuls on the Democratic side keep entering the fray – including, this week, Beto O’Rourke, with Joe Biden promising a definitive decision any day now. Oh, and Trump’s inner-circle cronies, Paul Manafort and Roger Stone, are in court, and in front of judges, yet again. What a week… and afterward, what a cliffhanger until The Circus reopens for Season 5.

Starz!, 8:00 p.m. ET

There was a lot of concern about whether American Gods, with a new set of showrunners, would return for Season 2 in markedly diluted and inferior form. Well, based on last Sunday’s Season 2 premiere, American Gods is just fine. One particular sequence, showing the inner workings of a fortune-telling machine, was a gorgeous piece of filmmaking, as arrestingly original as the traveling-to-motels-and-diners montage in Manhunter. At the end of the episode, the show’s human hero, Shadow Moon (played by Ricky Whittle), was absconded by some of the New Gods. What will they do with him now that they have him? And how will Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and the others react?

CNN, 9:00 p.m. ET

DOCUMENTARY SERIES PREMIERE: This new multi-part biography of Richard M. Nixon begins with a look at his early days. It also looks at his forefathers – and his foremothers – to better understand the environment, physically and ethically, from which he emerged.

AMC, 9:00 p.m. ET

Because of this show’s major time jump to start the season, many subsequent elements of the plot, and fates of the characters, remain unexplained. Tonight, one of them gets addressed: The X-shaped scars we’ve seen on the bodies of both Daryl and Michonne.

HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET

The 1999 disappearance and murder of 18-year-old high school student Hae Min Yee, and the subsequent murder conviction of her former boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was a cold case made red hot by the nonfiction Serial podcast. Tonight, Part 2 of HBO’s even newer look at the case, including what has happened since it was overturned in the wake of the Serial revelations.

Showtime, 9:00 p.m. ET

SEASON PREMIERE: This fabulously acted, written and directed series returns today, with some major new alliances forming (Axe and Chuck) – and also some new adversarial relationships. I’ve seen the first four episodes of this new Season 4, and all I’ll reveal for now is that the Billions writers are moving lots of its chess pieces around the board, and giving them the space and opportunity to confront new issues and individuals. For a full review, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

HBO, 11:00 p.m. ET

One half-hour show to recount this particular week’s events doesn’t seem like nearly enough. Talk fast, Mr. Oliver. Then again, he always does…

Marine lubricants are specialized oils and greases formulated to meet the demanding requirements of marine engines and equipment operating in harsh oceanic environments. These lubricants are essential for reducing friction and wear in ship engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring efficient performance and prolonged machinery life. They come in various types, including trunk piston engine oils (TPEO) for medium-speed engines and system oils for crosshead engines. Marine lubricants must possess excellent thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and detergency to withstand extreme pressures, high temperatures, and exposure to saltwater.
