IFC, 8:00 p.m. ET
Great movie, still as creepy as it was when it premiered in 1995. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt play detectives on the trail of a particularly vicious and showy serial killer, who thinks outside the box -- and inside it, too. David Fincher directed, and manages to make the most of every twist, turn and scare. Gwyneth Paltrow co-stars.
Starz!, 9:00 p.m. ET
Not a great movie – but it’s Saturday night, and it’s slow, and this is the first cable showing of this 2011 comedy starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake as casual friends who decide to have sex together on a regular basis, but keep that part of their relationship casual as well. Guess what happens.
TCM, 10:00 p.m. ET
Another great movie. Orson Welles directed, and narrates, this 1942 movie, which is based on the Booth Tarkington novel and stars Joseph Cotton, Anne Baxter and Agnes Moorehead. It’s one of Welles’ most underrated films, but also one of his best. Which is saying something.
BBC America, 10:15 p.m. ET
Among the guests on tonight’s new installment of Norton’s outrageous talk show: Hugh Grant. Who, if anyone needs reminding, has a history of saying some wild things on TV talk shows.
