BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Netflix, 3:00 a.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: This new Netflix import comes from Belgium, and is shown in Dutch and subtitled. The 2017 drama series is a combination police investigation and horror film, and stars Veerle Baetans as a mother with amnesia – and with visions of awful things happening to her young daughter. Baetans not only stars in the series, but co-created and co-wrote it as well. But I haven’t previewed it, so you tell me whether or not Tabula Rasa qualifies as a Dutch treat.

Various Networks, 12:00 p.m. ET

The round of 64 clashes today and tomorrow in the first round of this year’s college basketball tournament. Games are shown today on four networks: CBS beginning at noon ET, truTV beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET, TNT at 1:30 p.m. ET, and TBS at 2 p.m. ET. A total of sixteen games are played before the night is over. Fun games to watch today include the Texas Tech Red Raiders, seeded No. 3 in the East, facing No. 14 seed Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, who pulled off early upsets as a double-digit seed in both 2014 (against Virginia Commonwealth) and 2016 (against West Virginia). That game is scheduled to start at 7:27 p.m. ET on truTV. Another strong game featuring a possible Cinderella upset: At 7:10 p.m. ET on CBS, a battle between two South teams, No. 5 seed Kentucky Wildcats vs. No. 12 seed Davidson Wildcats. Go Wildcats!

Fox, 8:00 p.m. ET

In this new episode, the women of Gotham continue to ascend, and grab and battle for power. Three of the women are ones with whom police chief Gordon has an intimate and troubled past: Barbara (Erin Richards) is running a night club and a crime ring, Lee (Morena Baccarin) has emerged to be running the tough Narrows neighborhood and leading a revolt, and Sofia Falcone (Crystal Reed), daughter of a former Gotham crime lord, has established her own power base and plans for city dominance. Add to all that the new incarnation of Ivy (now played by Peyton List, pictured), who’s taking her newfound powers to control and kill anyone she targets – and is out hunting a new target.

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

Back in 1960, when many phone numbers were still identified by their exchanges (remember the hit big-band song “PA-6 5000”?), Elizabeth Taylor starred as a high-priced Manhattan call girl in Butterfield 8. The title of the movie referred to her phone exchange, not her name or a particular exotic specialty. Her character’s name? Gloria Wandrous, which is salacious enough on its own. One of Taylor’s co-stars in this film, by the way, is Eddie Fisher, with whom she was having a scandalous affair after the sudden death of her husband Mike Todd, Fisher’s best friend.

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

In tonight’s episode, Earn is starting to live up to his nickname – but the money isn’t flowing, so his lifestyle, and neighborhood status, continue to stagnate.
