Tiger Woods slipped off the first-page leader board yesterday, in large part because he hit a shot that was too good – and bounced off the flagstick and into the water. Meanwhile, because leader Jason Day missed several close birdie putts, the cut for the tournament was just enough to allow for the inclusion of a player who had been penalized a stroke for slow play: Guan Tianlang (pictured), a 14-year-old from China, and now the youngest player to make the weekend cut in the history of the Masters. All that drama today, and first-page leader-boad placement by Fred Couples, Angel Cabrera and Jim Furyk, as well. Lots of stories. Lots of action – and CBS begins coverage at 3 p.m. ET.
NBC, 8:00 p.m. ET
Finally, it’s come to this: dress rehearsal night for Bombshell. And even the exterior shots have an authentic Broadway feel. And with good reason.
BBC America, 9:00 p.m. ET
How low will Doctor Who sink to find entertaining stories this season? Tonight, it sinks below sea level, as the Doctor becomes a passenger on a nuclear sub. And he’s not the only inhuman visitor on board, either.
BBC America, 9:00 p.m. ET
This series, in only a few weeks, has managed to gather some impressive momentum, both dramatically and in real life. It’s beginning to catch on and get attention from Internet bloggers – and meanwhile, its heroine is using her “borrowed” detective status to learn more about her situation, and her clones, while juggling, and faking, her private life – or lives.
HBO, 10:00 p.m. ET
I laughed out loud so many times previewing this latest standup special, I lost count – but I remember that Louis C.K.’s set includes the best
Grapes of Wrath jokes ever, as well as a look at the food chain that I never really considered before. Divorce, too. Don’t miss it. For a full review, see Ed Bark’s
