SPECIAL: Eric McCormack and Debra Messing of NBC’s Will & Grace are the hosts of this celebration, which looks back at 75 years of Golden Globes celebrations. Pay particular attention, if this special has the nerve to show it, of the shockingly unexpected Star of the Year Award bestowed in 1982, to a then-unknown starlet named Pia Zadora. How unknown? The film for which she “won,” Butterfly, which had been financed by her wealthy husband, hadn’t even been released yet.

FAKE NEWS WITH TED NELMS

SERIES PREMIERE: Ed Helms stars as, uh, Ted Nelms, in this new Comedy Central series, which presents Helms, as Nelms, anchoring a program of completely fabricated news. And yet it premieres the day after the Alabama special election for senator, so real news, right now, seems astounding enough. Yet here it is, with Fake News making fun of the format and presentation of the news more adeptly than any series since The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
