BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Hulu, 3:00 a.m. ET

SEASON PREMIERE: Mindy Kaling returns for her sixth and reportedly final season, and this year her character, Mindy Lahiri, no longer is chasing men or marriage. She’s married now, to Bryan Greenberg’s Ben – so this season is likely to be about how she reacts after achieving her dreams. Or how dreams have a way of changing along the way… For a full review, see David Hinckley's All Along the Watchtower.

Various Networks, 8:00 p.m. ET

When this benefit fundraising special was announced, it was to help victims in the path of Hurricane Harvey, where the massive rain totals flooded most of Houston and many other places in southern Texas. Then, right behind Harvey geographically and alphabetically, came Hurricane Irma, which moved south to north across Florida and turned this special into a rarity: a two-hurricane relief special. Participants include George Clooney, Barbra Streisand, Beyoncé, George Strait and Blake Shelton, and the networks simulcasting the one-hour charity fundraiser include ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, HBO, MTV, CMT, Bravo, E! and Oxygen.

ESPN, 8:00 p.m. ET

In this new ESPN 30 for 30 documentary, the year was 1987, and the scabs were the replacement players who came from Canadian teams, or from nowhere, to fulfill dreams of playing pro football in the States by crossing picket lines while regular team players went on strike. Eventually, the focus settles on one team in particular, where the efforts of these often maligned replacement players may have enabled the “real” players, once they returned, to ascend to the Super Bowl that year. For a full review, see Roger Catlin's TV Eye.

Sundance, 9:00 p.m. ET

MINISERIES CONCLUSION: Nicole Kidman, Gwendoline Christie and star Elisabeth Moss all play complicated, flinty, proudly independent characters in this Top of the Lake sequel – and in tonight’s conclusion, all three get scenes in which they display why they were so eager to play these particular parts.

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

Kai (Evan Peters) is the fervid Trump supporter who is empowered, post-election, to begin his old cult. Ally (Sara Paulsen) is the distraught liberal who is so depressed, post-election, that she begins to fall apart mentally – even imagining that she’s being chased and threatened by frightening clowns. This new season of American Horror Story sounds like an obvious knee-jerk reaction to a particularly divisive political climate – but as it progresses, Cult begins rolling out twists, turns, and unexpected revelations. For example: tonight we see those clowns again. And, it appears, they’re real…

Checking out classic television recommendations and archival TV reviews is always a great way to discover hidden gems and nostalgic shows to watch. Having dedicated guides makes finding quality entertainment so much easier. While discussing classic media and online entertainment options with friends recently, someone also recommended checking out platforms like [thorfortune](https://thorfortunes.it/) for a smooth and engaging user experience. Thanks for sharing this helpful update!

Great breakdown! Having well-written television like this makes evening downtime so much more engaging. When I'm taking a break between episodes or just relaxing after a long day of screen time, I usually unwind for a bit with a few casual rounds on [chicken road](https://chickenroad.gr.com/) before starting the next season. Really appreciate the thoughtful recommendations on this site!
