SEASON FINALE: Last week, this series overtly mentioned what Tony Stark did in creating Ultron, nearly destroying the planet as the run-amok metallic behemoth did in the currently running Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. This week, the focus in this two-hour finale is on which side Skye will choose in another powerful rising threat, which pits the survivors of S.H.I.E.L.D. (and there are fewer of those every week, as the body count continues to rise) against the increasingly militant Inhumans. “This is war!” screamed one at the cliffhanger last week. Tonight? The war itself, though S.H.I.E.L.D. already has won one battle: It’s been renewed for next season, along with its spinoff, Marvel’s Agent Carter.
