THE CONCERT FOR VALOR: SALUTING AMERICA’S VETERANS

This Veterans Day concert is a big deal, as some of the names on the scheduled performance list can attest: Bruce Springsteen, the Black Keys, Dave Grohl, Eminem, Rihanna and Carrie Underwood, for starters. And as onstage hosts, Jack Black, Bryan Cranston, Jamie Foxx, John Oliver and others. Record it, because there are no plans, at present, to release it on DVD or CD.

Tonight’s ancestral-history-hunting guests include Deepak Chopra and Sally Field. Since Sally Field once starred in the NBC miniseries Sybil, I’m secretly hoping her family tree branches off into about 16 different directions.

To celebrate Episode No. 200, this CW series presents a playful salute to its loyal fans – one that includes some imaginative “fan fiction” as a plot device, as well as, yes, a musical of sorts, with Sam and Dean as the sources for inspiration.

 
  
 
 
MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

ABC, 9:00 p.m. ET

Last week, while more allegiances were being realigned, Adrianne Palicki made her longest and strongest appearance yet as Bobbi Morse, who eventually, according to the Marvel Comics pantheon, will reveal herself the mysterious, powerful Mockingbird. Since Palicki, after leaving Friday Night Lights, won the lead role in David Kelley’s unsold Wonder Woman TV series, she’s clearly got the chops to play an action heroine. Even one without a magic lasso.

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

Bobby, we hardly knew ye. And pretty soon now, Jax is going to figure out that Bobby, like several other people already, died for Jax’s mother’s sins.
