BIANCULLI’S BEST BETS

Various Networks, 9:00 p.m. ET

SPECIAL: Part 2 of 2. Oprah Winfrey has produced and will host, for her OWN Network, a brand-new two-part talk show special, which concludes tonight. This socially distanced special allows her to converse with guests about very current events, including the protests as well as the pandemic. Scheduled guests include Stacey Abrams, Ava DuVernay, Keisha Lance Bottoms, David Oyelowo, and others. And it’ll be simulcast widely: All of the 18 other Discovery sister networks in the U.S. will be showing tonight’s final installment at the same time it premieres on OWN.

ABC, 10:00 p.m. ET

This latest and final season of this ABC Marvel universe drama has spent its first few episodes back in the pre-WWII 1930s. In doing so, it’s found a clever way to bring back occasional guest star Patton Oswalt, pictured, in a new role (or maybe, given the time-travel riff, an old one?). And tonight, it may take even better advantage of that particular time frame, by getting closer to the people around the origin of Captain America. But it better move fast. Next week’s episode, based on its title, promises yet another time jump.

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

SEASON FINALE: Last week’s episode, about witches, was one of the show’s best installments yet – which means it was hilarious. Tonight is the final new show of season, which is the bad news. The good news is that FX already has renewed it for Season 3. The other bad news is: Who knows when FX will get to produce a Season 3?

TCM, 10:00 p.m. ET

Six years before Sally Field portrayed the titular California surfer girl in ABC’s Gidget, Sandra Dee originated the role in this 1959 movie. Look at her, she’s Sandra Dee! And her co-stars include James Darren as Moondoggie, Cliff Robertson as The Big Kahuna, and Yvonne Craig, eight years before playing Batgirl on Batman, as Nan.
