SEASON FINALE: Last week's episode could have been a season-ending cliffhanger, with Alicia (Julianna Margulies) offering yet another fellow lawyer a chance to start yet another law practice -- but no. This week, we get the answer to her question, along with lots of other great stuff, including one last appearance by Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), and one more burst of memorable histrionics by Canning (Michael J. Fox).

GAME OF THRONES

HBO, 9:00 p.m. ET

This is the first of this year’s episodes that I wasn’t able to preview, so I don’t know what’s going on. But at this point, please, let there be dragons… Because all the simmering pots in these respective kingdoms are just about to boil.

NURSE JACKIE

Showtime, 9:00 p.m. ET

In tonight’s episode, Jackie (Edie Falco) begins to fight against the suddenly announced impending destruction of the hospital to make room for other, more lucrative construction. Let’s wish her well — but this is the final season, and fighting against the hospital’s closing didn’t go so well for the folks on St. Elsewhere.

MAD MEN

AMC, 10:00 p.m. ET

Last week’s episode, which focused heavily on Joan (Christina Hendricks) and the indignities heaped upon her by her new bosses, was by far the best yet of this final batch. And this final batch is almost over: Next week is the Mad Men series finale.

PENNY DREADFUL

Showtime, 10:00 p.m. ET

There’s a really big surprise in this week’s episode — and it’s not that Billie Piper has extended her run on this series by playing, in essence, the new bride of Frankenstein. That was established at the end of last week. No, there’s something even more unexpected tonight, at least something that I didn’t see coming…
