SERIES RETURN: After a winter hibernation, this series returns with an episode that follows up on the show’s lingering cliffhanger. Quinn (Dianna Agron), when last we saw her, was involved in a serious car accident – which occurred when she was texting while driving. Tonight, we find out her fate, in an episode that also features guest star Matt Bomer, from USA’s White Collar, as Blaine’s older brother.
Flix, 8:00 p.m. ET
Released in 1973, this rarely televised documentary was written and directed by Orson Welles, who hones in on two famous fakers: art forger Elmyr de Hory, and de Hory’s biographer, Clifford Irving, who also concocted a famous forgery of his own – a false autobiography of Howard Hughes. And while probing these two celebrated cases, Welles also admits to some fakery of his own, including, of course, his infamous radio adaptation of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, which had hostile Martians touching down, and vaporizing citizens, in Grovers Mill, NJ.
NBC, 9:00 p.m. ET
Tonight’s an elimination-round installment, and four singers – not just one – will be sent home before the evening is out. One who better not be sent home? Juliet Simms. Her rendition last night of The Police’s “Roxanne” was a star-making moment. Or, at least, a star-in-the-making moment – so she’s one to watch in the weeks ahead, not to lose tonight because of fickle audience voting. Then again, the judges do have one override veto, right?
CW, 9:00 p.m. ET
SEASON FINALE: This could well be the series finale as well. Yet if you’ve been watching this series, and are looking for a sense of closure, keep your expectations low. Sarah Michelle Gellar, as twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan, is in dual jeopardy tonight, with threats that include a staged drug overdose (seen at left) and a possible drowning in the bathtub. And even if both sisters survive, what then? That’s the question. Butthere's an even better question out there: How many viewers, at this point, are asking?
FX, 10:00 p.m. ET
SEASON FINALE: With all the bad boys colliding in orbit around Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan – Mikelti Williamson’s Limehouse, Neal McDonough’s Quarles, Jeremy Davies’ Dickie Bennett, and Walton Goggins’ good old Boyd Crowder – is it any wonder Raylan has both guns drawn? I can’t wait for tonight’s episode. And Advance Spoiler Alert: I plan to review it tomorrow.
